May Monthly Mindfulness

On May 29th from 7.30 to 9pm we are having the next Monthly Mindfulness for Men session in Bodhi Centre in Gorey. It again is an opportunity for men who have no previous experience in Mindfulness and also for those men who have experience and who wish to ensure that Mindfulness becomes a more central part of their daily lives.

Mindfulness is very simple but highly effective. It does not require any previous experience or qualifications. Each one of us have skills, experiences, qualities, attitudes, aptitudes and values that are uniquely different from any other man. Mindfulness allows us to be present with the powerful man that we are in this present moment, even when external realities or stress (distress) in our life may seem to suggest otherwise.

There are no skills necessary to begin mindfulness. There is simply a need to commit to your own well-being as if your life depended on it.

Bodhi is situated above Roche’s Allcare Pharmacy, 14 Main Street, Gorey. Cost is €20 per session or €60 for 4 pre-booked sessions. There is no requirement whatsoever apart from the need to book ahead as numbers are restricted. Phone or text Jim at 086 2471912.

Mindfulness is very simple and does not require any previous experience or qualifications. Each man has skills, experiences, qualities, attitudes, aptitudes and values that are uniquely different from any other man. We do not compare ourselves to what we perceive or believe other men to be. We learn to be present with the powerful man that we are in this present moment, even when external realities or stress (distress) in our life may seem to suggest otherwise.

There are no skills necessary to begin mindfulness. There is simply a need to commit to your own well-being as if your life depended on it.

Mindfulness Masterclass for Men

Mindfulness Masterclass for Men is a 6 week experiential course

Next Course: 1 night per week in Bodhi, Main St., Gorey

Beginning Monday 6th March 7.30pm   Very Limited Spaces

For men who want to spend time in stillness, experiencing their inner powerfulness and wholeness, and allow it to guide their daily lives.  Simple exercises that allow you to experience and tune into the depth of who you truly are, in silence and stillness.

Men who participate have no need for previous experience with mindfulness or similar awareness practices.

The course is very simple but very profound; the space is safe, confidential and highly supportive. It requires you simply to have the willingness to deeply commit to yourself and to honour and live as the uniquely wonderful person that you are.

The course will introduce and let men experience the difference between living with “normal” perception, insights and experiences on one hand, and living with higher consciousness, deeper connection to your feelings and to your heart and your inner wisdom on the other hand.

Brexit, Fear and the Powerfulness we have

Brexit seems to spell now as fear; there seem to be endless discussions and analysis every day on how businesses in Ireland will suffer; many examples are given like the mushroom and the farming industries that have already taken a direct hit as a result of the decision by Britain to trigger Brexit.

Brexit is indeed a huge challenge for those industries and for businesses generally in Ireland. That is simply a fact. We have very little control or influence over Brexit or how it will impact on business in Ireland.

Fear happens; it is normal, it is an unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger, pain, or harm and Brexit is indeed a threat. We never get to live as humans where we don’t experience threats or challenges in some shape or form. The threat or challenge may be something much more local and immediate, even personal, than Brexit.

We simply cannot ignore threats or challenges and hope they go away. We need to respond appropriately, to take whatever steps which are possible for us to take. The most important first step is dealing with the fear that is triggered by the threat or challenge.

Fear is simply an emotion, a powerful automatic trigger to warn us of danger. We acknowledge the danger, the threat or challenge and the fear emotion that it has triggered. We know that fear has no more power over us, unless we give it that power.

We free ourselves to focus on the power we have to respond. We feel the fear in its intensity, but we do not give it energy. We free ourselves to focus on the steps, even if those appear to be very small insignificant or inadequate steps, to address this and other challenges. We begin to allow ourselves work outside the fear box, to take back our power and allow it to tune in to a different wavelength of solutions and powerfulness.
